DURHAM — An SUV was totaled and a plow truck damaged in a crash on Pinkham Brook Road Sunday afternoon.
Androscoggin County Sheriff’s Sgt. Jim Jacques identified the drivers as Andrew Higgins, 48, of Durham and Darrell Briere, 28, of Irene Street in Lisbon.
According to Jacques, Higgins was backing the plow truck out of a driveway and had stopped across the roadway when Briere came over a knoll. Briere swerved to the right and into the woods in an effort to avoid a collision, but not before striking an attached sander and the bed of the plow truck.
Briere complained of hip pain but declined medical attention.
Jacques estimated damage to Higgins’ 2001 Chevrolet 2500 plow truck bed and sander at $5,000. The 2003 Jeep Grand Cherokee Briere was driving, owned by Carol Alexander of Lisbon Falls, was demolished in the 2:40 p.m. crash.
