AUGUSTA — Freshman Morgan Eliasen hit five of seven free-throws in a hotly contested fourth quarter and Brie Wilson scored 19 points as Lewiston shook off Oxford Hills, 53-50, in a girls’ basketball game Friday night at the Augusta Civic Center.
The Vikings held a 25-22 lead at halftime before the Blue Devils (2-4) threw in 19 points in the third quarter. Kristina Blais scored 10 points for Lewiston.
For Oxford Hills (1-3), Anna Wilson was good for 19 points.
Lisbon 36, Winthrop 4
WINTHROP — Mia Durgin scored eight points and Lisbon’s defense held Winthrop to one point in the second half as the Greyhounds rolled to a 36-4 victory in a girls’ basketball game Friday.
The Greyhouns (1-5) built a 15-3 at halftime and scored 13 points in the third quarter. For Winthrop, Sareenah Lariviere had two points.’
Edward Little 54, Mt. Ararat 28
TOPSHAM — Kory Norcross threw in 17 points and knocked down five 3-pointers and Emily Jacques added 10 as Edward Little remained undefeated, beating Mt. Ararat, 54-28, in a girls’ basketball game Friday.
The Red Eddies (6-0) jumped out to a 32-14 lead at halftime and held the Eagles (0-5) to just four points in the last Stanza.
Lyndsey Cornelison scored 12 points for Mt. Ararat.
Boys’ basketball
Lisbon 62, Mt. Abram 57
SALEM — Lisbon and Mt. Abram battled through four quarters before the Greyhounds came out on top with 62-57 victory in overtime in a boys’ basketball game Friday night.
Tucker Brannon led the Greyhounds (2-4) to victory with 14 points and teammate Kyle Bourget added 13.
For the Roadrunners, Amos Withee scored the game-high 17 points and knocked down three 3-pointers. Danny Luce also made three 3-pointers and scored 11 points.
Oxford Hills 59, Lewiston 44
PARIS — Andrew Fleming scored 22 points and pulled down 15 rebounds as Oxford Hills dispatched Lewiston with a 59-44 victory in a boys’ basketball game Friday.
The Blue Devils (3-3) took a narrow 22-21 lead at the half before the Vikings (3-2) piled up 20 points in the third quarter to pull away.
For Lewiston, Carlos Gonzalez and Quintarain Brown each scored 10 points.
