TURNER — After hearing a request from Matt Jordan for the Turner Timberland ATV Club to cross Back Cove Drive and Cobb Road, selectmen Monday night questioned if they have authority to grant permission.

No decision was reached.

The board also accepted payment arrangements from two residents to stave off foreclosure for delinquent taxes.

The board reviewed a written report from Public Works Director Jack Moultrie, who was not present because he had been on the road working the storms day and night.

His report said there was much tree damage from recent storms and workers trimmed back the worst places. He said if these conditions continue, his budget will fall short. He said there is only 250 yards of sand and 130 tons of salt on hand.

In discussions with Livermore over the poor condition of Bean Street, it was determined that the Livermore will handle plowing the section of the road that is in Livermore. Discussions are continuing on who will plow Turkey Lane and South Livermore roads. Town Manager Scott LaFlamme and Moultrie will work on the situation.

LaFlamme said Budget Committe meetings would begin shortly.

A spokesperson for the Boofy Quimby Memorial Hall attended the meeting to inform the board that hall supporters were raising funds for improvements to comply with the Americans with Disabilities Act.
