LISBON — Adrianna White piled up 26 points and Lisbon held Mountain Valley to single-digit scoring in the first half, allowing the Greyhounds (5-6) to roll to a 54-39 victory in a girls’ basketball game Saturday.

The Greyhounds built a 31-13 lead by halftime. Mia Durgin added another 12 points for Lisbon.

Mountain Valley’s (4-8) Karen Flaherty scored 14 points.

Monmouth 43, Madison 39

MONMOUTH — Kylie Kemp recorded a game-high 14 points to lead Monmouth to a 43-39 victory over Madison in girls’ basketball action Saturday.

The Mustangs (7-5) trailed 24-21 at intermission, but they picked up steam in the second half to tie it in the third and race across the finish line at the final buzzer.

Jenna Davies and Sidney Wilson posted 10 points apiece for Monmouth.

The Bulldogs (9-4) were a bit more balanced on offense. But they couldn’t make the key baskets. Christie Vicneire and Alex Jarvais collected eight points apiece.

Lewiston 60, Hampden 50

HAMPDEN — Senior forward Jenessa Talarico powered up the Blue Devils with 27 points as Lewiston grabbed a 60-50 victory over Hampden in KVAC girls’ basketball action Saturday.

There were 63 foul shot attempts in the contest with the Blue Devils (4-9) making 22 along the way. Senior point guard Kristina Blais contributed 14 points for Lewiston.

The Broncos (1-12) were paced by Erin Murphy, who had a team-leading 14 points in the losing effort.

Oxford Hills 45, Lawrence 43

SOUTH PARIS — Tianna Sugars sank 14 points to lead Oxford Hills to a 45-43 victory over Lawrence in girls’ basketball action Saturday.

The Bulldogs led 22-17 at the half. But the Vikings made their move in the second stanza with a stepped up tempo. Anna Winslow posted 13 points, while Brooke March added 11 points for Oxford Hills.

Nia Irving notched a game-high 19 points for Lawrence.

Spruce Mountain 47, Carrabec 27

JAY — Nicole Hamblin posted a game-high 10 points in a collective effort as Spruce Mountain danced to a 47-27 victory over Carrabec in girls’ basketball action Saturday.

The Phoenix (12-0) led 30-10 at intermission. Kailee Newcomb contributed eight points.

Hannah Atwood and Liberty Chestnut recorded six points each for the Cobras (9-3).

Boys’ basketball

Monmouth 68, Mt. Abram 47

MONMOUTH — Marcques Houston drained 14 points to lead Monmouth to a 68-47 victory over Mt. Abram in boys’ basketball action Saturday.

The Mustangs (8-4) were also supported by Hunter Richardson and Kasey Smith with 13 points apiece in the balanced attack.

The Roadrunners (1-11) came up a bit lame in the second quarter and was outscored 22-11 to trail 46-30 at the midpoint. Amos Whithee and Artie Ryan scored a shared team-leading 13 points each for Mt. Abram.

Boys’ hockey

Lewiston 5, Brunswick 2

BRUNSWICK — Matt Poulin scored two goals and Kyle Lemelin punched in a goal and earned two assists as Lewiston sidestepped Brunswick 5-2 in a boys’ hockey game at Bowdoin College on Saturday.

Joey Frechette and Griffin Wade also scored for the Blue Devils. Eddie Emerson, Ethan Melvin, Jean-Luc Dostie and Evan Gosselin each earned assists.

Brunswick’s Jacob McGowan and Matt Brooks each scored a goal and earned an assist.

Men’s basketball

CMTC 126, UMPI 71

AUBURN — A steady stream of full-court pressure and timely shooting propelled the Central Maine Technical College to a 126-71 trashing of the Univeristy of Maine at Presque Isle in men’s basketball action Saturday.

The Mustangs (16-0) were all revved up as floor leader Luis Medina had secured a double-double of 10 points and 13 assists just before halftime. CMTC led 64-38 at haftime.

Shaun Hill shot a game-high 20 points, while Medina had 18 points and Tim Flanagan bagged 13.

Boston College 7, Maine 2

CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. — Boston College scored three goals in the span of 1:38 in the second period en route to a 7-2 win over the Univeristy of Maine in men’s hockey action Saturday night.

Kevin Hayes netted the first and final two goals to lift the Eagles (16-4-3) to new heights.

The Black Bears (11-8-3) tied the game at 19:59 of the first period behind a goal from Jon Swavely and cut the deficit again in the second period at 18:40 when Stu Higgins fired the puck into the net for his sixth goal of the season.

But, Maine was overwhelmed buy the three Boston College goals in each of the second and third periods to go down in defeat.

Cony 5, GNG-Poland 2

AUGUSTA — Forward Cam Wilson collected a goal and an assist to lead Cony to a 5-2 victory over Gray-New Gloucester/Poland in an Eastern Class A boys’ hockey action Saturday.

The Rams (6-4) took an early 2-0 lead in the first period.

Cony spread the offensive effort evenly across the field.

Senior defenseman Kaleb Bridgham netted the first Gray-NG-Poland goal to cut the deficit to 2-1 for the 26ers (3-6) at 13:54 of the second period.

The Rams pushed through a 3-1 advantage in the third period for the win.
