JAY — A March 1 benefit supper and a raffle are planned for police Chief Larry White Sr., who was recently diagnosed with advanced cancer.

White also serves as public safety director and oversees the Fire Rescue Department.

Monetary and item donations for a raffle can be left at the Jay Town Office on Main Street, across from Jay Plaza.

The supper will be held from 4 to 6 p.m. at the Spruce Mountain High School on Community Drive in Jay.

Tickets are $5 for adults and $3 for children 12 and younger. They may be purchased at the door or in advance at the Town Office.

“Chief White is battling cancer and the community wants to show (its) appreciation for his good service to the community,” according to a release.
