LEWISTON — Councilors will start work on their 2014-15 budget at a special daylong discussion Saturday, Feb. 8.
City Administrator Ed Barrett said the workshop is to find out what councilors want to accomplish over the next two years.
“We then use those as guideposts at the staff and council level of the issues they really want us to dig into and work on,” he said.
The planning meeting is scheduled from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Feb. 8, at the Community Room in the Androscoggin County Chamber of Commerce office on Lisbon Street.
It will be moderated by Steve Pecukonis of Topsham’s HRD Associates. He moderated the council’s 2010 retreat and planning session.
“We try and get the council together every two years, after the election,” Barrett said. “We like to spend a day talking about priorities.”
