Maine Association of Police President Kevin Riordan, left, presents the association’s Business Recognition Award to R. Daniel Gauvin, manager of the S.G. Thibault Funeral Home in Rumford, at the association’s 15th annual awards banquet on Jan. 25 in Portland. Gauvin was recognized for his long history of support to the Rumford Police Department and the entire community. The Business Recognition Award is given to a business that has supported and assisted law enforcement in its community. It was noted that, on many occasions, Gauvin has purchased a coffee for an officer or delivered ice cream on a hot Maine day, and has even brought a fruit platter, whoopie pies or other tokens of gratitude to the department in appreciation of the work that the police department does.
