The first-ever pie sale held at Lithgow Public Library in Augusta on Jan. 23 — which was National Pie Day — raised $900 for the Friends of Lithgow Library’s Capital Campaign to renovate and expand the historic building. Along with community members and library staff who baked pies for the sale, the Friends of Lithgow Library thank the Downtown Diner in Augusta, Marie’s Whole Foods in Readfield and Caprara’s Food Service Equipment in Winthrop for donations. The library will hold another pie sale on Friday, March 14 — which is International Pi Day — from 9 a.m. to when the pies are gone. Lithgow Library is at 45 Winthrop St. For more information, call the library at 626-2415 or visit www.lithgow.lib.me.us.
