Dave Drew, left, of Litchfield, Frank Jalbert of Lewiston and Mike Gilheany of Windham ride along the trails at Range Ponds State Park in Poland on Sunday. With an hour of extra daylight, Jalbert of Busytown Bikes in Lewiston led a “fat bike” ride. Fat bikes have oversized tires and are good for year-round riding, Jalbert said. “Fat bikes are all about fun, not about being serious,” Gilheany said. “They ride just like a mountain bike, but go anywhere.” This is the first winter that Range Ponds has left the park gate open throughout the winter, Park Manager Adam McKay said. The gate will be open from 9 a.m. til 6 p.m. Thursday through Monday.
