AUBURN — Gary R. Smith, president of New England Retirement Advisors, a financial advisory firm located in Auburn and Portland, has been awarded the Accredited Investment Fiduciary designation from the Center for Fiduciary Studies, the standards-setting body for fi360.

The AIF designation signifies specialized knowledge of fiduciary responsibility and the ability to implement policies and procedures that meet a defined standard of care. Designees are required to complete continuing education to maintain the AIF designation.

Smith is a resident of Auburn. He specializes in wealth management, retirement plans and financial planning for individuals and business owners. Smith is also the owner of a “sister” company to New England Retirement Advisors, called New England Medicare Advisors.
