FARMINGTON — Police say a Phillips man was given a summons charging following too close after his vehicle struck a car stopped on the Wilton Road.

Timothy Haley, 34, was driving a 2004 Dodge minivan west on Routes 2 and 4/Wilton Road about 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, Farmington police officer Michael Raymond said.

Ann Jani, 57, of Rangeley was ahead of Haley and stopped to turn left onto Knowlton Corner Road,  Raymond said. She told police her turn signal was on. Haley said it was not on, Raymond said.

Haley hit the back of Jani’s Jeep, the officer said.

Haley and his 3-year-old daughter were checked at the scene by NorthStar personnel but neither was taken to the hospital, Raymond said.

Jani told police she was not injured.
