AUBURN — Emergency responders rescued a woman Sunday night after she fell down an embankment off Main Street around 10 p.m.
Kerrie Stone, 19, of Auburn was out walking when she slipped down the embankment to the Little Androscoggin River near the art walk, according to Sgt. James Lawlor.
Lawlor said she was able to call for help on her cellphone but police were not immediately able to find her location.
Auburn firefighters and police officers located Stone and worked to clear brush in order to get her out on a backboard and into a waiting ambulance by 10:20 p.m.
Lawlor said Stone sustained minor injuries and said she was still quite shaken up from her fall and unable to recall all the details leading up to it.
According to Lawlor, there was no indication of alcohol and she was simply at the wrong place at the wrong time when the incident occurred.
