LEWISTON — Police and emergency vehicles responded to a collision at the intersection of Sabattus and Perley streets shortly after 7 p.m. Sunday.

According to Lieutenant Mark Cornelio of the Lewiston Police Department, Adam Caron, 40, of Lewiston was attempting to turn west onto Sabattus Street from Perley in a 1998 Chevrolet S-10 pickup truck, owned by his father, Roger Caron.

At that time, Brandon Williams, 25, of Sabattus was driving a 2002 Hyundai Accent east on Sabattus Street and the two vehicles collided.

Cornelio said Williams complained of knee and head injuries. He was treated at the scene. Caron was uninjured.

Neither Williams’ nor Caron’s driver-side airbags deployed in the crash that destroyed both vehicles.

Caron said he was only beginning his day. He said he works an overnight shift in western Massachusetts and still faced a four-hour drive to work.
