FARMINGTON — A Farmington man was indicted by a Franklin County grand jury Tuesday on a charge of aggravated furnishing of a scheduled drug.
David Shanley, 26, was arrested in February after police investigated and charged him with furnishing a 13-year-old Wilton youth with Ritalin, a prescription drug commonly used for attention deficit disorder.
Shanley also was accused of injecting the drug into the teen, Farmington police Sgt. Edward Hastings IV said at the time.
Shanley did not have a prescription for Ritalin, he said.
Ritalin is also used for attention deficit hyperactivity disorder and a sleep disorder.
Family members reported the Jan. 31 incident, which occurred at a home in Farmington. An investigation by police Sgt. Michael Adcock and Hastings led to the arrest.
