The family included Cindy, Aaron, Mia and Grace Willingham of Farmington. “We’re doing it to help the community,” Aaron Willingham said. Organizers Jo-Anne Bean Palmer and her husband, Palmer, received help from granddaughter Emelia Bean, left. They were working with the Farmington Downtown Association and members of the University of Maine at Farmignton’s Sustainable Campus Coalition. Over a dozen people picked up supplies and started working by 1 p.m.

Organizers Jo-Anne Bean Palmer and her husband, Chris Palmer, passed out supplies to over a dozen people by 1 p.m. Residents picked up trash around the downtown area from 1 to 3 p.m. Bean Palmer was working with the Farmington Downtown Association and members of the University of Maine at Farmignton’s Sustainable Campus Coalition on the event. Workers from Farmington Public Works were there to take garbage to the transfer station.
