NORWAY — The Board of Selectmen on Thursday evening signed the warrant for the May 15 special town meeting when voters will decide on requests totaling more than $87,000.
The meeting will begin at 7 p.m. in the Municipal Building on Danforth Street.
Voters will be asked to appropriate $2,500 from the unrestricted fund balance for the municipal building account to cover higher than anticipated heating costs.
They will also be asked to appropriate $4,445 from the unrestricted fund balance to cover the cost of street light costs and $5,000 to the cemetery account to cover an overdraft.
Voters also will be asked to appropriate $5,000, the balance of the Denison Cole Fund, to pay for an upgrade to the town’s 20-year-old website.
A total of $20,000 will be requested from the unrestricted fund and a transfer of $7,000 from the general administration account for a police account overdraft.
Voters will be asked to appropriate $20,000 from the Recreation Reserve Fund to offset the cost of recreation that was underfunded last year in an attempt to cover anticipated state revenue cuts.
They will also be asked to appropriate $23,500 from unrestricted funds to pay for the demolition and cleanup of a tax-acquired property on lower Main Street.
