FARMINGTON — The Farmington Police Department has been awarded a $3,000 grant to increase patrols and conduct seat belt enforcement.
This grant runs for a two-week period, May 19 to June 1, and is funded through the Maine Bureau of Highway Safety. It allows an officer to strictly concentrate on traffic enforcement during peak hours.
This campaign, Buckle Up — No Excuses!, is one of three grants that the department will be running. The other two grants are speed enforcement and impaired driving enforcement. Both of these run until September.
