Wilton: A Memorial Day event begins with a flag raising at 2 p.m. at the monument on Main Street. A community walk along Main Street to the American Legion Hall will follow.
Monday
Andover: The Knights of Pythias will hold a Memorial Day Service at 9 a.m. on the Town Common. The Rev. Jane Rich and Pastor Ken Wagstaff will participate. There will also be a flag-folding ceremony. Homemade donuts will be available at the Town Hall after the ceremony. Seating is provided.
Bethel: The Memorial Day parade will lineup on Mechanic Street at 10 a.m. and start at 10:30 a.m. It will proceed up Main Street to the Common, where a ceremony will begin at 11 a.m. with a color guard, firing squad and the Mahoosuc Band. The speaker will be Maine District Court Judge William Schneider of Durham.
Buckfield: The John D. Long American Legion Post 58 will hold a Memorial Day parade, starting at 9 a.m. at the Town Office on Route 117. It will proceed to the town square for a ceremony at the monuments and to place flowers in the Nezinscot River in memory of veterans lost at sea. A bus will transport participants to the Damon Cemetery in North Buckfield, where there will be a ceremony and a salute by a firing squad.
East Bethel: A service will be held at 11 a.m. at the East Bethel Cemetery on Middle Intervale Road.
Farmington: Roderick-Crosby American Legion Post 28 will host a Memorial Day service, parade and wreath ceremonies. A wreath will be placed at World War I Memorial at 9 a.m.; a service will be held at 9:30 a.m. at the Post hall; a wreath will be placed outside hall at 9:50 a.m.; the parade will begin at 10 a.m., followed by a light lunch at the hall.
Fayette: A Memorial Day service will be held at 12:15 p.m. at the Fayette Memorial at the Town Office on Route 17.
Greenwood: A Memorial Day parade will leave the parking lot at the corner of Route 26 and Gore Road at 9 a.m. There will be a brief service at the Veterans Monument before proceeding to the Locke Mills church for a service. The speaker will be American Legion Department of Maine Historian Ron Caron. He will talk about veterans and the history of the American Legion. Afterward, refreshments will be served at the Jackson-Silver American Legion Post on Gore Road. In case of rain, the observance will be held at the Post hall.
Harrison: The Harrison Memorial Day parade will begin at 9 a.m. from the United Parish Congregational Church. Music will be provided by the Bridgton Community Band. A service will follow the parade at the church. The guest speaker will be Rear Adm. James D. Cossey, who served 33 years with the U.S. Navy.
Jay-Livermore Falls: Memorial Day Parade lineup is at 9 a.m. at MEMCO on Route 4. The parade will begin at 10 a.m., stopping at veterans memorials in Jay and Livermore Falls.
Services are also planned in Livermore Falls at 7 a.m. at the Livermore Falls Memorial Bridge on Route 4; at 7:20 a.m. at the Livermore Veterans Memorial on Route 4 in Livermore; at 7:45 a.m. at the Jay POW/MIA Bridge on Riley Road in Jay; and at 8:15 a.m. at the Jay Hill Cemetery off Route 4; and at 8:45 a.m. at VFW Post 3335.
Leeds: A Memorial Day service will be held at 1:15 p.m. at the Leeds Memorial in Leeds Center, corner of Route 106 and Church Road.
Norway: The Memorial Parade will step off at Advertiser Square at 9 a.m. and proceed down Main Street, stopping at Witheral Park between Norway Savings Bank and Cumberland Farms to lay a wreath on the Civil War Monument. It will continue to the Stone-Smart American Legion Post for the ceremony, with the intersection of Main and Paris streets closed to traffic during the ceremony.
Oxford: The annual Memorial Day Parade will step off at 9 a.m. from the Oxford Elementary School at 79 Pleasant St. The parade will proceed down Pleasant Street/Route 121, turn left onto King Street and end at the Anderson-Staples American Legion Post 112 hall at 169 King St. for a ceremony. The guest speaker will be state Rep. Roger Jackson, R-Oxford. Refreshments will be served after the ceremony.
Paris: The Memorial Day Parade will begin at 10:30 a.m. at the Oxford County Superior Courthouse on Western Avenue and proceed through Market Square to Maple Street and end at the Foster-Carroll American Legion Post on Church Street. Gil Turner will serve as grand marshal.
Rumford-Mexico: A Memorial Day parade will start at 10 a.m. from the Napoleon Ouellette American Legion Post parking lot across from Rite-Aid Pharmacy on upper Congress Street. It will proceed to Portland Street across the Memorial Bridge over the Androscoggin River to the Rotary Memorial Green for a ceremony. From there, the parade travels down Rumford Avenue, left onto Waldo Street, right onto Lincoln Avenue and through Mexico on Route 2 to the Veterans Memorial Green for another ceremony.
Woodstock: A Memorial Day ceremony will be held at 1 p.m. at the Honor Roll near the Grange hall. It is sponsored by the Bryant Pond Daughters of Union Veterans of the Civil War. A parade to the Lakeside Cemetery will follow.
