TURNER — Cierra Hilliard smacked a two-run triple that sparked a six-run outburst in the sixth inning as Leavitt shook off Winslow (11-5) with a 6-2 victory in a season-ending softball game Thursday.

The Hornets were down 2-0 until the bottom of the sixth when Leavitt made a break for it with six runs using a seven-hit attack.

Winning pitcher Abbie Robertson went the distance and threw a two-hitter.

Annie Castonguay doubled for the Hornets (10-6).

For Winslow, Hillary Libby had a double.

While the regular season is done, both teams will be making a appearance in the playoffs.
