Maine State Music Theatre to hold historic Chamberlain Ball

BRUNSWICK — Maine State Music Theatre will hold a Civil War-style Ball at 6:30 p.m. Saturday, June 14, at the Knights of Columbus Hall at 2 Columbus Drive.

The Chamberlain Ball gala – named for the great Civil War hero from Maine, Joshua Chamberlain – will include dancing (with dance cards) to an authentic Civil War-era fiddle band, hors d’oeurves, themed photo booth and the opportunity to dance with the cast of MSMT’s Chamberlain: A Civil War Romance. Costumes are encouraged but not required and the evening will also include a costume contest. Cash bar.

Against a backdrop of thrilling music, grand battle scenes and a compelling romance, the newly written production of “Chamberlain: A Civil War Romance” — on stage June 25 through July 12 – explores his heroic participation in the Battle of Gettysburg and his impact on the state of Maine.
