Norway Savings Bank recently presented the Maine Housing and Building Materials Exchange with a check for $5,000 for the Building Material Supply Fund for Low-Income Families. The money will provide grants to income-eligible households in Androscoggin, Cumberland, Oxford and Sagadahoc counties that need urgent home repairs, weatherization upgrades or code improvements. BME is a nonprofit organization that operates a 14,400-square-foot warehouse at 102 Lisbon Road in Lisbon. It houses building materials that have been donated by manufacturers and distributors, as well as some retailers and individuals. At the donation were, from left, Gail McBride, vice president CRA officer and project management coordinator at Norway Savings Bank; Dave Zimmerman, operations director at Building Materials Exchange; and Patricia Weigel, president and CEO of Norway Savings Bank.
