PARIS — Police said a Paris woman was arrested on felony charges early Wednesday morning after she slashed a man in the forehead with a butter knife.
According to Paris police Detective Sgt. Jeffrey Lange, 28-year-old Michelle Walker was arrested after midnight Wednesday on charges of aggravated assault, resisting arrest and violation of conditions of release.
Police responded to a High Street residence for an incident involving a 36-year-old man reportedly bleeding from a head wound. He was transported to Stephens Memorial Hospital in Norway and later released.
Walker went with a young child to a neighbor’s house, where she reportedly punched a deputy from the Oxford County Sheriff’s Office in the face, Lange said. She was arrested and taken to the Oxford County Jail, where she is being held without bail while awaiting appearance in 11th District Court in Paris on Friday, a corrections officer said Wednesday night.
The relationship between the suspect and child was not immediately known.
