JAY — Veterans gathered at the Jay War Memorial on Monday morning as they have every Monday from May 1 to Veterans Day for the past few years.

As they held their flags high this week, they remembered the men and women serving all around the world in our military as they have since 1776, Donald Simoneau said.

The veterans gather at the memorial, located on the corner of Main and Church Street, from 8 to 9 a.m. each Monday.

“We will also be showing all who drive past that we have pride in the American flag and our country,” he said. “We always have extra American flags and anyone is welcome to stand with us.”

Those who drive past are asked to sound their horns to show their pride, he said.
