LEWISTON — School Committee meeting and workshop, 6 p.m. in the Dingley Building, 36 Oak St. Workshop topics include proficiency-based learning and sports eligibility, followed by an executive session to discuss personnel policies.

Friday, July 4

Liberty Festival, beginning at 5 p.m. in Auburn’s Festival Plaza and 5:30 p.m. in Lewiston’s Simard-Payne Memorial Park. Auburn performances include Veayo Twins, Zumba and karate demonstrations and other acts. Lewiston performances include Skosh, Zealous Bellus and other bands.

Fireworks are scheduled to go off at 9:30 p.m., with one more live act afterward at each venue — Terry and the Telstars in Auburn and Dr. Fatfinger in Lewiston.
