FARMINGTON — A new year-round shop local campaign called Shop Second Saturday, or S2S, is the topic of the next Franklin County Chamber of Commerce Business Breakfast.
The breakfast takes place from 7 to 8:30 a.m. Wednesday, July 9, in the North Dining Hall of Olsen Student Center at the University of Maine at Farmington.
Guest speaker is Curtis Picard, director of the Retail Association of Maine.
Shop Second Saturday has been designed to provide direct economic benefits to local businesses and will set a precedent as a fresh, year-round campaign to promote business in Maine.
Picard and Kate Carey of the Retail Association of Maine will interact with business owners and retailers at the breakfast, explaining how businesses can be part of S2S in a big way and ensuring that everyone is comfortable with the program.
The presentation will walk participants through the program for the launch on Aug. 9.
This Business Breakfast is free for chamber members and $5 for nonmembers. Everyone is welcome. RSVPs are requested.
