LISBON — A masked man with a gun robbed tellers and a customer Thursday afternoon at the Five County Credit Union on Route 196.

Julie Marquis, executive vice president of Five County Credit Union, said a man entered the building at 4:15 p.m., demanded money and fled.

Police from Lisbon, Sabattus and the Cumberland County Sheriff’s Department responded and searched the area. Auburn police sent over an officer with a tracking dog, but by late Thursday night, the suspect remained at large.

Lisbon police said the suspect walked into the credit union and brandished a gun, ultimately taking cash from tellers and a customer.

No shots were fired and no one was hurt, police said.

The investigation was continuing Thursday night. The suspect was described as wearing dark pants and a hooded sweatshirt, in addition to the mask. His height was estimated at 5 feet, 8 inches tall or slightly taller.

Police did not say how much money was taken. The suspect was last seen running behind a nearby business, police said.

Anyone with information about the stick-up is asked to call Lisbon police at 353-2500.
