PARIS — A Mexico man is expected to appear in court next week to face multiple aggravated drug trafficking charges following a police investigation into the distribution of cocaine and oxycodone around Rumford.

Bryan Ernest Worthley Jr., 41, of Harlow Hill Road in Mexico pleaded not guilty to two counts of aggravated trafficking in scheduled drugs, conspiracy to traffic drugs, aggravated marijuana cultivation and two counts of violating condition of release, according to a grand jury indictment.

Also charged in the case is Dawn Marie Miller, 39, of 818 Hillside Ave. in Rumford, according to police. Miller pleaded guilty May 9 to a charge of unlawful trafficking in scheduled drugs in an agreement with the state that dismissed felony aggravated drug trafficking charges, according to court documents. She was placed on probation for one year and ordered to pay $1,000 in fines.

According to police, Miller and Worthley are believed to have routinely sold oxycodone and cocaine from their homes and acted as co-conspirators to source customers and supplies in Rumford and Mexico.

In January and February 2012, Miller allegedly sold 30 mg. of oxycodone to an undercover informant and was observed during police stakeouts consistently playing host to multiple, short-term visits, police said.

Acting on a warrant April 6, 2012, Maine Drug Enforcement agents entered Miller’s home and seized several bags of cocaine apparently packaged for distribution, oxycodone, two ledgers of drug customers and their debts, a cellphone and $2,760.

Parked in the driveway at the time of the search was a white Ford Mustang registered to Worthley, according to a request for a search warrant from Maine DEA special agent Tony Milligan.

Police said they searched Miller’s phone, finding text messages spanning several days between the defendants, in which they discussed selling cocaine.

During the search, Miller’s phone reportedly rang repeatedly with calls from Worthley. Posing as Miller, police initiated a text messaging conversation with Worthley, who allegedly advised agents to lie to police, police said.

Acting on the evidence from Miller’s residence, six days later, police searched Worthley’s residence at 107 Swett Ave. in Mexico on a warrant. They seized several marijuana plants, small bags of cocaine, drug paraphernalia, plus a spoon and scale which tested positive for cocaine, according to police.

Worthley has a substantial criminal record in Maine and New Hampshire, involving multiple arrests for drug trafficking, domestic violence and assaulting an officer, according to the indictment.

Worthley is due to appear in Oxford County Superior Court on July 10.

Miller waived her right to be indicted by a grand jury and a trial has not been scheduled.
