Kevin Berry of Greene placed third in the solo male kayak category of the 16th annual Chief Worumbo Androscoggin River Race on Sunday and received a small wooden canoe for his effort. Berry has paddled the 6-mile race between Durham and Lisbon for the past 10 years in memory of his brother, Vincent Sinclaire, who died in 2004. Berry spread his brother’s ashes at the finish line 10 years ago and a large family gathering has participated in the event ever since. The Worumbo race is a fundraiser for the Androscoggin Land Trust.
