OTISFIELD — Eight students have been awarded $750 scholarships from the East Otisfield Free Baptist Church. Each recipient will receive $750.
“All of our scholarship recipients have family members who attend East Otisfield Free Baptist Church,” member Jean Pottle said.
This year’s recipients include Alyssa Andrews, daughter of Jeff and Roberta Andrews of Norway.
“Alyssa’s mother, the former Roberta Rugg, was our first scholarship recipient in 1987-88,” Pottle said. “We are some happy to be on the second generation of scholarship recipients!”
Andrews attends Colby College.
Other recipients are:
Nicole Donnellan who attends the University of Maine at Orono. She is the daughter of Denise Donnellan of Otisfield.
Zane and Zebb Duffany are sons of Deborah Peaco of Otisfield. Zane attends the University of Maine at Orono; Zebb attends Assumption College.
Dorothy Dyer is attending the University of Maine at Augusta. She is the daughter of Garry and Deborah Dyer of Otisfield.
Molly Mahn, daughter of Robert and Sandra Mahn of Otisfield, will attend the University of Southern Maine in Portland.
Frank Montana, attending Northwestern University, is the son of Arthur and Carol Montana of Mechanic Falls.
Rachel Wandishin, daughter of Betsey Mayo of Casco and Ted Wandishin, attends Roger Williams University.
“Our two big scholarship fundraisers are the Flamingos and Fleas Sale at the Otisfield Community Hall the third Saturday in July and the Christmas sale at the church the first weekend in December,” Pottle said.
