When you’ve got a veteran legislator who knows how to work to do what’s right for Maine, your choice at the polls this November should be an easy one. That state senator is Democrat John Cleveland, of Auburn.
As co-chair of the state Energy, Utilities, and Technology Committee, he joined with leading Republicans to frame a law aimed at expanding New England’s natural gas infrastructure, boosting funding for energy efficiency, lowering businesses’ electricity costs, and making it more affordable to abandon oil heat.
That’s the sort of leadership his constituents have come to expect from John, who served in the Senate from 1991 to 1998, and is also a former mayor of Auburn.
I’ve known John for more than 10 years, and I’m confident that a vote for him in November is a vote for a legislator who listens to his constituents and is willing to reach across the aisle to do what is best for Maine.
