JAY — Students, parents and others in Regional School Unit 73 will have a chance to meet newly hired Superintendent Kenneth Healey at an open house this week.
Meet the Superintendent is set for 6 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 14, in the cafeteria of Spruce Mountain Middle School.
Healey wants to hear residents’ views about the district.
The former principal of Lisbon High School was selected by the RSU 73 board to succeed Robert Wall, who retired this summer after a 45-year education career.
Healey began his duties at RSU 73, which is comprised of Livermore, Livermore Falls and Jay, on July 1.
Discussion is underway to close the former Livermore Falls High School and move the Spruce Mountain Adult and Community Education program to the Central Office building on Cedar Street in Livermore Falls.
There also has been some discussion on changing the names of the Jay Elementary and Livermore Elementary schools.
