On Friday, August 22 our Executive Director/CEO, Kevin McPhee, and the founding board of directors would like to invite you, the members of our surrounding community, to join us for a fun, informative and memorable afternoon at 342 Bennoch Road in Old Town, home of the Old Town Recreation Center. This event will be one that we are excited to share with you as we officially begin our journey as an independent, family centered, non-profit organization.
Here is a brief agenda of the afternoon events: 4 p.m. – Ribbon cutting ceremony; 4:15p.m. Q&A session and demonstrations; 5 p.m. – Talent show and end of summer video; 5:45 p.m. – BBQ; Hot dogs, hamburgers (and yummy treats!) will be available for all to enjoy through our “Pay what you feel is right philosophy”. 100% of the funds received will go to support our new OTRec Scholarship Fund. With your help, this designation will play an important and crucial role in our community. These funds will be made available to those with demonstrated need who simply look forward to spending quality time with friends in our programs.
The energy and excitement at the Old Town REC Center has been building throughout the summer and will continue into the Fall! Feel free to visit our website, www.oldtownrec.com, for the latest information, and even follow us on Facebook for news, updates and upcoming events. Our vibrant afterschool enrichment program, Fall baseball, field hockey, golf clinics, flag football, soccer, fencing, family karate, (just to name a few) will be starting up soon, and will create a multitude of recreational and educational opportunities for our community. If you are interested in exploring fun, healthy, and educational opportunities for your family, simply stop in or call to speak with Coach Kev or others that represent the Rec family. We hope to see you on the 22nd!
