1950 – 2014

ST. JOHN, Virgin Islands — Barbara Joyce Alperen, born the daughter of Dr. Samuel and Eleanore Alperen of Lewiston on March 3, 1950, passed away quietly surrounded by family and friends after a brief illness on Tuesday, July 15.

Barbara was a benefactor of all nature’s beauties, especially flowers, butterflies and cats.

She is survived by her husband, Terry McKoy; siblings, Naomi Cronkite, Martin Alperen and Selma Rockett; her niece’s family, Erika Seid and Matt Danning; and her nephews’ families, Sam Klein and Hilde Stuhaug and Ben and Sheila Klein. She also leaves a successful art gallery, SloopJones, on St. John, Virgin Islands; many friends and many cats.

She will be sorely missed by all who knew her.
