MILFORD – The Maine Department of Transportation has notified town officials final repairs are just ahead for a bridge on the County Road where work was supposed to done more than three months ago.
Repairs to the bridge were nearly complete in May, when DOT officials discovered problems with slopes to the bridge. That led to one-way traffic for extended periods on the bridge while the DOT monitored it, trying to isolate and solve the problem.
According to Town Manager Dawn Adams, the DOT recently notified her preparations are now underway for final repairs to the bridge, with work to begin in a week or two. No timeframe was given for when the work would be finished.
Adams added that DOY officials have told her traffic impact during the final repairs would be minimal, although there may be delays of 15 to 20 minutes while repairs are underway.
