FARMINGTON — A New York man was arrested on a charge of criminal speed Saturday for driving 68 mph in a 35 mph zone on Route 133, according to police.
Ronald Storetveit, 59, of Mount Sinai, N.Y., also was charged with driving without a license and driving an unregistered vehicle, police said.
Storetveit passed Wilton police officer Courtney Krause at a high rate of speed near McCrillis Corner about 3 p.m. Saturday, according to her report. Radar clocked him going 33 mph over the speed limit.
Storetveit was taken to Franklin County Detention Center where he posted $5,000 cash bail Sunday and was released, according to a jail officer. He is scheduled to appear in court Oct. 28.
