FARMINGTON — A Freeman Township woman was taken to Franklin Memorial Hospital Monday afternoon after her vehicle rear-ended another car on Wilton Road.
Yvette Lisherness, 64, was taken to the hospital by a NorthStar ambulance to be checked for non-life-threatening injuries, Farmington police officer Derrick Doucette said at the scene.
Martha Payne, 72, of Fayette was attempting to make a left-hand turn from Routes 2 and 4, also known as Wilton Road, onto Knowlton Corner Road, he said. The accident occurred just before 3 p.m.
A witness told police that Lisherness, driving behind Payne in a red minivan, did not stop or slow down for the turning vehicle and crashed into the back of Payne’s Subaru, he said.
No charges are expected at this time, he said about the accident.
Police said they thought Payne’s Subaru would be driven from the scene. A wrecker was en route to tow Lisherness’ minivan, he said.
A Franklin County sheriff’s deputy and members of Farmington Fire and Rescue assisted at the scene.
