FARMINGTON — Joanie Peter, M.D., has joined the medical staff of the emergency department at Franklin Memorial Hospital.

Peter received her medical degree from Ross University School of Medicine in North Brunswick, N.J. She then completed a family medicine residency with a selective track in emergency medicine and critical care medicine at Central Maine Medical Center. In 2013, she earned the Family Medicine Residency “Professionalism” Award. Peter is a member of the American Academy of Family Physicians.

She resides in Durham. During her free time she enjoys snowboarding, wine collecting and kayaking. She is a volunteer ski patrol member at Black Mountain of Maine.
