RUMFORD— A local woman escaped injury when her car collided with a moose on Route 108 on Saturday.
Rumford Police Officer Brad Gallant said Sonia Thibodeau, 41, of Rumford was driving into Rumford in her 2013 Volkswagen Jetta when she collided with the male moose.
The moose was killed, but Thibodeau was not injured, Gallant said.
He said these kinds of accidents are more common this time of year.
“I’m sure they’ll start increasing,” he said.
