FARMINGTON — Police said a woman suspected of stealing a sweatshirt from Wal-Mart in June was arrested Monday morning at a home in Brunswick.
Jessica Harvey, 20, was charged with theft and violation of conditions of release, Farmington police officer Bridgette Gilbert said.
Police asked for the public’s help to find Harvey and received information that she was staying at a residence in Brunswick. Gilbert contacted the Brunswick Police Department and Harvey was arrested and taken to the Cumberland County Jail in Portland, Gilbert said.
Police said Harvey left the store and ignored security personnel who told her to stop. She went over a parking lot guardrail into a swampy area, heading in the direction of the Red Schoolhouse Road, police said.
Farmington police have communicated with Harvey by phone but she did not go to the department as she said she would, Bonnie Pomeroy, police department secretary, said Friday.
