Gold Bowlers shine in Augusta touurney

Maine State Junior Gold Bowlers held its first tournament for the season at Sparetime Recreation in Augusta on Saturday, Sept. 20. This tournament winner was Corey Ridley, bowling a 1,043 total pins for five games, earning him a spot at the 2015 Junior Gold Championships in Dupage County, Ill., a suburb of Chicago. The second qualifier for the tournament is Becka Reynolds with 923 pins.

Marissa Parks is our first qualifier of the season. She earned her spot at the Junior Gold Survivor Tournament in Buffalo, N.Y., in July.

Ridleys is from Jay and bowls out of Meadow Lanes in Wilton. Reynolds is from Lewiston and bowls out of Sparetime Recreation in Lewiston. Parks is from Bath and bowls out of Yankee Lanes in Brunswick.

The sport pattern was Stockholm, 34 feet, one of the shortest. Highest games were Ridley with a 244 and Reynolds with a 224.
