LEWISTON — Law enforcement authorities are asking anyone with unused and unwanted prescription medications to bring them to two locations in Androscoggin County on Saturday.
The Androscoggin County Sheriff’s Department is participating in the National Prescription Drug Take-Back Day.
On Saturday, deputies will be the Poland substation at 1231 Main St. and at the Turner Town Office at 11 Turner Center Road from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
All prescription medications as well as over-the-counter drugs, except intravenous drugs and needles, will be accepted at both locations.
“This program is very important in helping to make sure that drugs that are no longer needed or expired are disposed of properly,” a news release from the Androscoggin County Sheriff’s Office said.
