RUMFORD — Grace Briggs took a Hanna Koch feed and slipped in the game-winning goal with 1:22 in overtime to give the Mountain Valley Falcons a 2-1 victory over Hall-Dale in a girls’ soccer game Monday.

In the first half, the teams finished with a 1-1 deadlock. Hall-Dale’s (3-3) Thea Sweet scored on an indirect kick. But the Falcons (4-2) also scored when Taylor Smart scored on an Abby Mazza assist.

The teams played through a scoreless second half. Mountain Valley goalie Karen Flaherty got the win net, making 10 saves.

Dirigo 3, Mt. Abram 2

DIXFIELD — Brittany Greig helped erase a halftime deficit to lift Dirigo to a 3-2 win over Mt. Abram in girls’ soccer Monday.

Greig had three goals for the Cougars (3-3), including two in the second half.

Down 1-0 after a Greig goal in the first half, Mt. Abram took the lead at half with goals from Alora Ross and Sally Stevens. Both came in the final 10 minutes of the half.

Greig then tied it 5:44 into the second half. She delivered the game-winner with 16:17 left, finishing off a Summer Keim pass.

Mariah LaFleur made eight saves in goal for the Cougars while Abby Brackley stopped 13 shots for the Roadrunners (3-4).

St. Dom’s 3, Boothbay 1

BOOTHBAY — Faith Grady continued her torrid scoring pace with a hat trick as St. Dom’s toppled Boothbay 3-1 in girls’ soccer action Monday.

Nicole Robitaille made two saves to register the win for the Saints (5-1).

Maddie McLellan scored the lone goal for the Seahawks (0-6), while Jaime Wheeler turned back five shots in the loss.

Field hockey

Oak Hill 5, St. Dom’s 0

AUBURN — Oak Hill broke open a slim lead with four goals in the second half and remained unbeaten with a 5-0 field hockey win over St. Dom’s on Monday.

Kayla Veilleux scored on a penalty stroke for a 1-0 lead at the half. The Raiders (8-0) then got a pair of goals from Kylee Veilleux and tallies from Danielle Samson and Heather Hannigan in the second half.

Hayley Marshall had a pair of assists for Oak Hill while Kylee Veilleux had an assist to go with her two goals.

Abby Fuller and Megan Labbe combined in goal for the Raider shutout. Taylor Bergeron had 17 saves for St. Dom’s (2-5-1).

Mtn. Valley 2, Telstar 1

RUMFORD — Lexi Duguay and Marissa Crosby netted goals Monday and Cassie Thibodeau stopped 14 shots as Mountain Valley edged Telstar in MVC field hockey action.

Liza White added an assist for the Falcons (3-4-1).

Becca Howard scored the lone goal for the Rebels (3-4), while Meg Glover was solid between the pipes, stopping 15.
