PARIS — Selectman Gerald “Gary” Kilgore resigned Monday evening, effective immediately.
Kilgore, whose three-year term ends in June 2015, made the announcement at the beginning of the meeting. He said the reasons were personal and health issues.
“I want to thank the people who supported and stood up for me for seventeen and a half years,” he said.
Replacing Kilgore will likely not come before next summer because town officials said there was probably no time to advertise the vacancy before the November election.
Town Manager Amy Bernard said she would review town bylaws to present selectmen with options for filling the vacancy at their next meeting.
