Held in conjunction with The Mark Thallander Foundation, an organization known for bringing inspirational music events to communities nationwide, this extraordinary evening of sacred music will feature more than 100 voices of the Festival adult choir, to include members of the Evangel University Chorale and the Basilica’s adult, hand bell and children’s choirs.

“In 2004 the Vatican raised Saints Peter and Paul Church to the status of Basilica,” said Fr. Caron. “This exceptional honor is bestowed based on historical importance or significance as a place of worship with the diocese, artistic value and the quality of the liturgical prayer. There are less than 60 churches in the United States that have been honored with this distinction and we look forward to celebrating this special anniversary by bringing the community together for a unique and uplifting evening of majestic music.”

“The organ has provided solo repertoire and has served as the musical foundation for choral music in churches for centuries,” explained organist, composer and author, Mark Thallander. “The Foundation is committed to ensuring this music lives on through its Festivals and concert performances.”

Concert is free and open to the public, but donations to restore the Casavant Organ will be accepted. For more information, visit markthallanderfoundation.org, www.princeofpeace.me or call 207-777-1200.
