The Good Shepherd Food-Bank of Auburn recently received a $10,000 donation from the Outshine Fruit Bars brand for the purchase of more than 60,000 pounds of fruits and vegetables. The extra produce will benefit all 600 agencies the food bank works with in Maine. The donation was part of Outshine Fruit Bars’ “A Million Ways to Outshine” campaign, which resulted in the distribution of 1 million pounds of fresh fruits and vegetables to 20 food banks nationwide. Sybil Riemensnider, left, and Anita Taylor, volunteers at the South Portland Food Cupboard, one of the agencies that Good Shepherd distributed produce to, help process food.
