She previously worked at Maine Instrument Flight School and the state of Maine Bureau of Aeronautics. She also served on the board of directors for Plummer Funeral Home and was the secretary/clerk of the corporation for many years.

Dot was extremely appreciative of the care and compassion she received during her illness from family, extended family, friends, staff at the Alfond Cancer Center for Cancer Care, MaineGeneral Medical Center, Dana Farber Institute, Dr. Michael Szela and all the doctors and nurses who helped her through this very difficult time.

She loved her Siamese cats, rocking endlessly in one of her rocking chairs, day trips around Maine, seafood and pasta, but most of all, family.
