LEWISTON — A forum has been scheduled to give local consumers a look at the new health insurance options available through the Health Insurance Marketplace in 2015 before open enrollment begins.
The event will be held from 2:30 to 5 p.m. Friday, Nov. 14, at B Street Community Center, 57 Birch St., 1st floor, Conference Room A.
It kicks off a series of statewide Health Insurance Marketplace open enrollment outreach events. Consumers who wish to work with a certified application counselor or navigator will have an opportunity to sign up for personalized counseling throughout the open enrollment period, which is Nov. 15 through Feb. 15.
Representatives from the three health insurance companies offered in the Maine Marketplace, as well as Marketplace navigators and certified application counselors, will be available to answer questions and review new options.
Those attending will include: Ray Hurd, regional administrator for the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services; Jim Lysen, executive director/chief financial officer for Community Clinical Services; Vanessa Santarelli, chief executive officer of Maine Primary Care Association; and Morgan Hynd, program officer for Maine Health Access Foundation.
The event is being offered by Community Clinical Services, a federally qualified health center affiliated with St. Mary’s Health System, in cooperation with the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services and organizations from across Maine.
