BRYANT POND — Gail Rein recently returned from the American Impressionist Society’s 15th annual show and juried exhibition in Denver, Colo., where she received an honorable mention.

Of almost 2,000 applicants, less than 160 were selected to exhibit and only 26 awards were given. Rein also received Best of Show from the Guild of Boston Artists Regional Competition this past summer. Both paintings were of Maine women.

Rein is a member of the Western Maine Art Group and often shares her learning by offering classes.
