RANGELEY — The Select Board approved appointees to local commissions Monday.

All town boards have full membership and can resume business as usual.

Named to the Planning Board were Rebekah Carmichael, Lucas Sirois and Shane Vorous. Approved for the Sewer Commission were Daniel Perkins, Shane Vorous and Town Clerk Ethna Thompson. Jennifer Farmer was returned to the Regional School Unit 78 board.

Residents stepped up to answer the town’s need after Select Board Chairman Dave Burgess spoke to individuals and Thompson followed up with phone calls.

All local commissions need a complete roster to conduct business. The Select Board is prohibited by statute from taking over the duties of the other commissions.

The board accepted for first reading an accident-reporting policy and an amendment to the policy of the Family and Medical Leave Act. The board waived further readings and approved both policies.

The board also approved a liquor license renewal for the 45th Parallel barbecue restaurant.

Keith Savage was appointed interim superintendent of the Wastewater Commission for six months. The appointment could lead to Savage taking the position permanently.

Selectmen decided to search for a code enforcement officer and a town planner as two separate positions since the search for an individual to assume both roles was unsuccessful. Thompson will post advertisements for both positions when she has received complete details from human resources.
