Madison 42, Monmouth 26

MADISON —  Junior guard Kayla Bess drained 15 points to lead Madison to a 42-26 victory over previously undefeated Monmouth in MVC girls’ basketball action Tuesday.

The Bulldogs (3-2) held the Mustangs (3-1) to no points in the second quarter, taking a 21-10 hafltime lead. Erin Whalen recorded 10 rebounds for Madison.

Jenna Davies and Sidney Wilson matched each other with a team-leading eight points apiece for Monmouth.

Brunswick 56, Lewiston 46

BRUNSWICK — Senior guard Julia Champagne scored a team-high 17 points to lead Brunswick to a 56-46 victory over Lewiston in KVAC girls’ basketball Tuesday.

The Blue Devils (1-3) started off slow and picked up momentum, but the Dragons (3-1) nursed the healthy lead. Junior guard scored a team-high 17 points for Lewiston.

Oak Hill 33, Mountain Valley 26

WALES — Sadie Goulet knocked down 11 points and grabbed six rebounds, four in the offensive end, as Oak Hill remained undefeated with a 33-26 win over Mountain Valley.

Brie Mulherin added seven points and six rebounds for the Raiders (3-0) in the defensive battle, with the teams scoring only five points combined in the second quarter. Sara Noel hit the game’s lone three-pointer and added five rebounds for Oak Hill.

Liza White had eight points for the Falcons (1-2), with Ashley Russell and Tori Ryerson adding four apiece.

Rangeley 76, Islesboro 12

WATERVILLE — Seve Deery-DeRaps piled up the game-high 18 points and Taylor Esty added 13 as undefeated Rangeley (4-0) rolled to a 76-12 victory over Islesboro in a girls’ Class D basketball game Tuesday.

The Lakers held Islesboro to two points in the first half as they built a 40-2 lead by halftime. Sydney Royce and Blayke Morin each scored 10 points for Rangeley.

Girls’ hockey

Leavitt/Edward Little/Poland 3, Brunswick 1

BRUNSWICK —  Sophomore center Mariah Vaillancourt scored a goal and an assist as Leavitt/Edward Little/Poland notched a 3-1 victory over Brunswick in girls’ hockey action Tuesday.

Angel Drouin scored a short-handed goal on a centering feed from Vaillancourt to put the game away well into the third period for the Red Hornets (7-1).

The Dragons (0-7) woked hard in the defensive zone to stop many quality scoring chances. Goalie Jordan Van Savage made 34 saves for Brunswick.
